My wife and I (both Americans) bought this house in the village of Neuheilenbach, 18 minutes from Spangdahlem AB, while stationed there. We have since PCS'd to another location in Germany. The current tenants move out in February 2017 after over 6 years in the house.

Here is the info on the house: 5 bedrooms, spacious kitchen, 2.5 baths, 3 garages, a rain collection system plus solar panels (both really help save on electric and water costs). The size is approximately 1700 square feet (150 square meters). Internet is available via Vodaphone or satellite dish.

House layout: the ground level has 1 bedroom, washer/dryer room, oil tanks, and is attached to the main garage. (The attached garage on the left hand side is accessible through the house. You can go through it to enter the house through the washer/dryer room.) The second floor is the main level and features a brand new kitchen (complete with a glass top stove and an extra-large oven - perfect for handling a large size American Thanksgiving turkey!), a pantry room, a 1/2 bath, living room, a dining room, and the 2nd bedroom (complete with a full bath and a mini kitchenette). The third floor has 3 bedrooms and a full bath.

One of the additional nice features of the house is that a professional carpenter was brought in and created built-in closets and storage spaces. This includes a storage area under the stairs (great for storing shoes!), and pull-out bed in one of the upstairs bedrooms.

Utilities: the current tenant (family of 5) advised electricity is approximately 90 Euros/month (again, the solar panels really help cut the costs), trash is 10 Euros/month, water is 35 Euros/month a person, and heating oil is approximately 100 Euros/month. (Note: the heating system was fully serviced in July 2016, and is thus very efficient.) Yard work and winter service are the responsibility of the tenant.

Rent is 1250 Euros/month and does not include any utilities. No smokers, please. Note: Since the house is not on the bus route, the current tenants drive their kids to the next village 8 minutes away to catch the bus.
